Simply return your product and we’ll give you a refund for 30 days.

Will bees actually use it?

Yes, if it is placed well. Face it south to southeast in a sheltered, sunny spot between ground level and about five feet. Most owners see their first sealed tunnels within four to six weeks of putting it up in spring.

Do these bees sting?

Red mason and leafcutter bees are solitary. They have no hive to defend, they do not swarm, and they are safe around children and pets. You can stand right next to the house while they are working.

Does it come with a parasite guard?

No, and that is deliberate. The front is left open so you can inspect and clean the trays freely. Once the tunnels are full we recommend fixing your own quarter-inch mesh across the front, which keeps birds and wasps off without blocking the bees.

How do I open it up?

Undo the two long screws that run through the stack. The five nesting trays then lift apart one at a time, so you can see the routed channels inside. Wait until the bees have vacated before cleaning anything out.

Where should I mount it?

Ground level, on a flat surface, or hung from a fence or wall using the metal eyelet on the back. Keep it out of driving wind and rain, and give it morning sun. Anywhere between ground level and about five feet works well.

How big is it?

18cm wide, 16.5cm deep and 18cm tall. That fits a balcony wall, a fence panel or a raised bed post, and it hangs on a single screw.
